What Is an Essency Water Heater?

An Essency water heater is the first ever on demand tank water heater. This system blends the storage capacity of a traditional tank with the performance of a tankless heater. The unit installs like a standard tank heater but provides performance similar to tankless systems, giving homeowners continuous hot water without complicated installation requirements. One of the biggest advantages is its high output capacity. It produces significantly more hot water than most traditional electric tanks of the same size.

How Essency Water Heater Technology Works

Unlike traditional water heaters that heat and store the same water you use, the Essency system uses a thermal battery design.

Here’s how it works:

The internal tank stores water that acts as a heat source, not the water you use.
When you turn on a hot water tap, fresh household water flows through a large heat exchanger inside the unit.
Heat from the stored water is instantly transferred to the incoming water, producing hot water on demand.

Because the water in the tank stays inside the system for its entire lifespan, the tank doesn’t experience the same corrosion problems as traditional steel tanks.
